  • Yes, this is a VMWare feature not a SAN feature.  I have done this on multiple MD3000i SANs.

  • i thought after we had moved to another datastore when migrated to thin provisioning we have to move its original datastore and complete the whole steps all over again except this time you need to choose "same format as source" option compared to initial you had to chosed for Thin Provisioning option button.

  • Is this feature independent of the SAN. I mean can we use our MD3000i and this will work?
