To everybody that is asking why she hasn't met jimmys family. Jimmy kept his family a secret through the whole time she was together with him, then after the engagement party he told her the truth that his dad's a drunk and his parents are split. So he was embarrassed by them. So she never met the brother before this episode

Two important things about this scene: (1) We learn that Jimmy is NOT the Jimmy Olsen from the comics; he is Henry James Olsen, and his little brother is the real Jimmy Olsen. (2) Why the heck hasn't Chloe met her dead husband's brother before now? LOL.

That being said at a funeral of a dude who died an early death makes for a very ominous "consolation" :p
It neatly opens up the future though. I can see it: Clark feels responsible for Jimmy's death, watches over his little brother like his own and viola, Superman's best pal is born!
