  • Ah, crap... He's worse than I thought.

Babeu is implementing iris scanners in Pinal County... you know, the type soldiers use in Iraq to ID their detainees. So, he beats back what is basically a competitor to put in what could ultimately prove to be WORSE than the scameras.

Even those who appear to be our allies are not always so...

  • @watcher8o Call up his campaign and tell him you don't approve and why. He needs to hear it. Babeu considers himself a "strict constitutionalist," but doesn't fully understand why the iris scanners violate those principles.

Go out to his next event and ask him about it. Id like to see Paul drop that program. IMO, ending all the magnet programs is how one would curb the illegal immigrant influx. The A-files and other databases used by the US Gov't are so error prone that these systems DON'T WORK

  • Hey, he did one thing right. Hard to overlook his made-up immigration terror stories, though... The guy is a villain, but I'll applaud his efforts against the cameras, at least.

  • @watcher8o To be frank, the association with McCain was where he went all wrong. If Babeu made anything up about that incident, I'd be personally surprised. He's fighting a losing battle in Pinal County, but he's a decent human being who wants to work for positive changes.

I also think Pinal County could use more of his help than Congress, but Babeu is an ambitious politician. Those types are always looking to move up. Initially it looked like he was going for US Senate, but that's a big leap.

  • The point is that if you take on this issue and are on the right side of it, your political career will likely advance. If you take that lobbyist money, enjoy it while it lasts is all I can say.
