@rbonilla18 Actually on this stage Hinault was sacrificing two minutes for Lemond -- letting him get the jump on Roche and Anderson to improve his overall advantage (and put them under stress to boot).

@TresorDeLamore Uh, Hinault wasn't riding helmetless because he was showing off; he was doing it because no one in Europe wore helmets back then.

That happen when u back stab a mate. Specially when your mate sacrifice his a tour for you.
I think many pros today would still be riding without helmets if it were not a rule.
