Looking at this video for a second time the guy is not only lucky but completely inexperienced/incompetent. After pounding in a wedge (not far enough) he cut away the hinge completely and the tree sat down onto the saw bar. He is lucky that there was no wind to speak of otherwise the tree would have gone down wherever it was blown. You poor guy you have no clue how lucky you are.
