  • Too much went wrong for the Bismarck.

  • But seriously i have absolute respect for all involved in this part of the war, to those who fought and gave their lives for our freedom today.

My own father was stationed on "HMS Suffolk" and i loved hearing him tell me his war stories. He was only a midshipman on Suffolk but still had lots of details you'd never get on a program like this. "I really hope the world does not have to go through such madness again" he said. 50 million + dead because of one crazed, meglomaniac Austrian..

  • Is that a water spout at 2:47 to 2:53?!

  • I dont quite understand, they make it seem if the Germans were able to "break out" into the open Atlantic, they do would be safe. How? Only 2 ships against the entire Royal Navy searching for her 24/7? Such a high priority enemy would demand the attention of every resource the RAF and Navy could muster. It was only a matter of time.

  • Interesting, my Pops was in the Army Air Corps and was in England and Europe and never talked about his time there. He wouldn't. Might be the difference between those on a ship and those on the ground, I don't know.

  • @72BajaBug Thank God everything went wrong for that nazi peice of junk !

  • pictures of airattacks shown are from normandy 1944!

  • @risingone

All respect to your father. One of the quiet heroes...

  • some excellent and historic interviews with the men who were there, and footage of Bismarck I have never seen before. perhaps one of the greatest dramatic naval actions of WW2. Events show that the carrier had become the prime asset of the navy.

  • @inar64 was quite ironic!

  • 6.13 I love the music for the commerical break!

  • @72BajaBug yes...they are idiotic enough to not even inform hitler
