Inspired by a Martin Luther King Speech : lyrics below

I went up to the mountain
Because you asked me to
Up over the clouds
To where the sky was blue
I could see all around me
Everywhere
I could see all around me
Everywhere
Sometimes I feel like
I've never been nothing but tired
And I'll be walking oh
Till the day I expire
Sometimes I lay down
Nothing more can I do
then I go on again
Because you ask me to
Some days I look down
I'm so afraid I will fall
And although the sun shines
I see nothing at all
Then I hear your sweet voice
Oh, come and then go oh oh
Telling me softly
You love me so
The peaceful valley
Just over the mountain
The peaceful valley oh
That so few come to know
But I may never get there
Ever in this lifetime
sooner or later oh
It's there I will go oh oh
Sooner or later
It's there I will go ouh

  • You sang this song very beautifully Mona. Great job !!!

    Peter :)

  • An exceptional rendition, even for the amazing Mona, who may have set a new standard for herself with this one!

  • This really is beautifully done Mona....Awesome!!

    Richard (TFCT)

  • Once more, it was divine, Great Mona, heartfelt, gorgeously colored and phrased like a Goddess as usual. How could it be not ? You're singing made a girl ! In the high register, don't lean your head backwards and don't "smile" (3:26-3:29) : it pulls upon the supralaryngeals, the larynx climbs and tightens whereas it must keep low and open to get an easy top. So : head upright, oval mouth, lower jaw drop, push down on your back tongue to raise the velum and yawn the larynx. Your #1 fan, Didier.

  • Such a beautiful inspirational song. This is so good I got a little teary eyed. Thanks Mona. You have such a special voice
