@KMXTube Hey, Thanks for the response 3 years ago :) Sorry I can't resist a little ironic onomatopoeia ("excited whiteys"). I agree that the "if one person gets it, everyone should as well" is a real challenge. We have dealt with this with some of our exchanges. - Julian

@KMXTube about the one person wanting something if someone else gets it, that's just how it is. These people have been reduced to begging, trained by years of having to please the government before they can get anything. Many communities have been marginalized in this way and I wouldn't blame them as it has become a matter of survival. Africa is in desperate need of new leaders and it doesn't seem we will have any soon.

It looks awesome out there in your video. However it's either too optimistic with U2 or naive.
I pray 4 all good people going down there as well as their wellbeing in this crucial time.

Thanks for the comment. The video was made about a year ago so obviously it doesn't relfect the current situation in Kenya. The original intent of the video was to show people the beauty of Kenya in general. That beauty is still there now, though you just have to look a bit harder to see it.

Let's break down the us/them mentality. This video shows the efforts of some excited whiteys heading to a far-off place to do their piece.
It's interesting that so many volunteers donate thousands of dollars to airlines so that they can make these gestures of world peace. I would like to encourage exchanges between places. People around the world can learn from each other - knowledge is not owned by any group - call them "rich" or "poor" it doesn't matter.

Hey Julian, good points, though talking about breaking down the us/them mentality and then talking about "excited whiteys" seems like a bit of a contradiction.
I like the exchange idea, unfortunately I don't know if it would have worked in the village we were in - there was a very strong "If one person does/gets something, everybody in the community should as well" mentality. Still, it would be great if people could make it work.
