Historic Formula Ford 2000 - Brands Hatch 9/11 2011

An action packed race with two red flag race stopping incidents. John Hayes-Harlow, having qualified second to champion elect Russell Love, maintained this position for 9 laps up to the first red flag. At the restart, the status quo remained, but after John chose to indulge in a spell of rallycross at Paddock, another competitor thought he could take advantage at Druids and they came together, both ending in the gravel trap, just as the second red flag was flown, Simon Toyne having rolled his car at Clearways. On the count back, the second place and podium presentation was awarded, but the stewards then decided, that with both cars in the gravel at Druids they would be classified as non finishers, deemed to be not running when the second red flag was initiated. The race was thus decided over 1 lap, and the podium result was null and void!
