Balnce sheets helps you see where your money is , where it is going, and where it went , where it is now. Assets are things a company owns that have value. Liabilities are amounts the company owes to others. Shareholders equity often refered to as capital or net worth. If a company is sold paid shareholders equity is what is left. Assets equals libilities plus shareholders. A companys assets have to balance the sum of its liabilities and shareholders equity. Kristy McGlynn
