INNERMOST DOOR

Nowhere to go
Nothing to say
You wont hear my voice
Till its far, far away
Im too tired now
To fight anymore
Were saying goodbye
At the innermost door

When I am alone
Youll come back to me
Its happened before
Its called memory

I must go back
To where we began
When I was a woman
And you were a man
If you come with me
Ill never begin
We made us a home
But the roofs fallen in

When I am alone

Youll come back to me
Its happened before
Its called memory

Im not even sure
If I know where to start
But starting is second
First we must part
Im too tired now
To fight anymore
Were saying goodbye
At the innermost door

  • It is hard to believe that this is the same girl that was one of the two background singers for Leonard Cohen. She has aged fast!!! She looks NOTHING like she did when she was young...

  • @MeThinksThus

She was NOT one of TWO backup singers - she was the ONLY backup singer on Cohen's 1985 tour (she was 20). You're probably referring to Perla Batalla and Julie Christensen in 1988 and 1993 tours, or maybe to Jennifer Warnes and Sharon Robinson in 1979 tour.

  • Very nice.

  • @a1000kissesdeep More to the point, WTF? Aged fast? ME THINKS THUS must be about 13....just sayin..

  • I think her voice is damn near close to perfect!

  • Beautiful - one of my all time favorie albums - BlUE ALERT

  • She sings beautifully - don't like the song though....not moving....

  • What a perfect partnership, sharing their lives, their beautiful voices and their wonderful songs, Leonard and Anjani in harmony and love.

  • @Unlikelypleasure...I agree with everything you have expressed...Thank you for so diplomatically put me in a proper place.

    hat tip...

  • @MeThinksThus Whoa, any chance you realized this was about Anjani the singer, not Anjani the body? I first met her over 20 years ago, and frankly I am amazed at how little she has changed. Matured, yes, but that is a good thing.
