Balsam VFD, Unit 1 Rescue, WestCare EMS dispatched to report of MVA, car "hanging over cliff" 3 children in side. (Jackson Co)
The car is hanging off the mountain at http://bit.ly/aGWl4q Caller advises she has three small children with her. 453.400/453.775
Rescuers on scene advise that they are going to have to stabilize the vehicle before they can attempt to remove occupants.
If you are near Eastern Jackson County, you may hear Balsam units on 453.03750 or 453.400 and Rescue on 453.775
according to the topo map, that area has a couple hundred feet drop off the side of the mountain that is greater than 45 degrees.
The volunteer firefighters and rescue squad members in Jackson County NC are solidly trained & experienced w wild incidents.
The woman and three children have been safely removed from the car hanging over a cliff. Rescue 6 will remain on scene.
