The quality of music has died down dramatically, even in Christian music, the music of today is not on par with the music of old.
There isn't alot of soul and substance in music anymore including Chrstian music. Everything is now commercial and superficial.
Hallelujah was the 2nd album released from the Words of Worship Series in 1988. The Words of Worship being Abba, Hallelujah, Hosanna, Maranatha and Amen. Amen of course was never released (probably due to the fact that it might be difficult to make an album solely around it. Maybe!!!)

This is so powerful, especially the arrangement. I adore the strings in the intro.

i agree with you all. you can feel the holy spirit moving and the anointing when one hears the music or the maranatha of old. And nowadays its only about the beautiful voice.

Your statement is true. There was a time, early 1970s through the mid 1980s when most of the singers, musicians, and producers of Christian music were actually in a love relationship with Jesus Christ and they had sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Now, almost all the products are commercialized and the degradation shows. Whatsoever makes a buck flies into an album. My heart can tell when 1) A singer is enthralled with their own voice; 2) the music does not engage the heart to worship.
