As a bagpiper myself I really can't judge Mr. Harley's skill as a bagpiper. What he is doing is completely different than I've ever heard. His blowing isn't very steady, but I think it fits with his style of play.

@vajrapiper : Well, honestly, not only is this some fine music to listen to sober, but we might as well admit and accept in our hearts that it's great music to get high to. Trippy aint the word.

Attending a Scottish themed funk party is on my bucket list after hearing this track. I tip my hat to your originality Rufus Harley.

This guy has much more value than we 'serious' pipers usually care to admit... Nice thing in the pic [likely taken in NYC in 2001/2, in the aftermath of 9/11] is Scottish Power PB's piping greats [L-R] PM Roddy MacLeod, Peter Hunt and Stuart McCallum falling in with the Philly legend. Wonder whether someone recorded THAT...

A psychedelic bag pipe player and black too, amazing, I thought I'd seen it all. He was self taught too, although he could play the sax and flute. He made some good records and one with the excellent Herbie Mann
