Music and lyrics by Eugene Monroe Bartlett

Eugene Monroe Bartlett * Waynesville, Mo Dec 12, 1885 † Siloam Springs, Ark Jan 25, 1941

Lyrics:

Verse 1:
Soon this life will all be over
And our pilgramage will end
Soon we'll take our heavenly journey
Be at home with Christ our friend
Heaven's gates are standing open
Waiting for our entrance there
Some sweet day we're going over
All the beauties there to share

Verse 2:
Soon we'll meet all the redeemed ones
And we'll take them by the hand
Soon we'll press into our bosom
Over in the promised land
Then we'll be at home forever
Through out all eternity
What a blessed, blessed morning
That eternal morn will be

Chorus:
Just a little while to stay here
Just a little while to wait
Just a little while to labor
In the path that's always straight
Just a little more of troubles
In this low and sinful state
Then we'll enter heaven's portals
Sweeping through those pearly gates

  • Congratulations! Beautiful music!

  • Thank you!

    kind regards,

    Bert Brandsma

  • Hi Bert !This tune is knockdown great. I didn't realize that Liela (sp??) played banjo so well!! Is Koos still one of your musicians? My best wishes to the greatest Bass Sax Player ,Sliding Selena, and a red hot trumpet. grmillssr Brunswick, Ga. USA

  • Our banjo player Koos is slowly retiring. He will play all festivals and important concerts this year, but wants to leave the other gigs to the younger people, so that we have the possibility to gradually work with them.

So we have a kind of free position.

Lielian is versatile, she allready did quite a few gigs at the fun parc during our last season there, 2008 and now is working very hard to learn all the numbers. She has great rhythm, as on the drums of course.

    Kind regards,

    Bert Brandsma

  • One more time, my congratulations,

  • Thanks for listening,

    Kind regards,

    Bert Brandsma

  • Great standard as usual. Band sounding very good; well done.

  • Thank you for your new tune! I like to stay a little while with my favourit band - and I like to see my favourit Lielian Tan playing banjo instead drumming this time. (The other three members please don't be jealous - you are the best, too;-)
