Did you do any mods to the VMAX? Your bike looked sweet going down the track. I thought the Harley would take you at the beginning with the aid of the wheelie bars, and it was the vmax winning the whole thing. It looked pretty close. I wonder how much power the Harley had.

@cashstore1 - What you can't see is a small bottle of NOS on my left side. It was only a 40 shot, and the only reason I was was me beating him off the line (hole-shot win). There is NO way that my bike would ever beat that bike with a good rider.... street tire vs slick, foot shifting vs. air, no bars vs. wheelie bars... the destroyers are pretty bad ass.... But a win is a win! I am right at 165hp at the rear wheel with the 40hp shot, and I'm sure the Harley is close to that (if not more)

@cwrowe08 Sorry cwrowe08, but you are wrong in both of your comments... this VMax is an 02, and I purchased it for $4200 (this isn't the $18,000 Gen II) and on top of it all, if you knew anything about drag racing, you would see the small light under the time-board in my lane, and that would be called the "Win Light" If you would like me to post my time slip, I would be more than willing to share that with you. The Destroyer should have cleaned my clock, but this time it didn't... Cheers

any race-moded "rice burner" will send the false "american bike" (it's a true German bike, overhead cams, liquid cooling, relatively high rpm, decent borexstroke ratio) with JAPANESE injection tecnology (harley use "rice burning" carburetors)

if porsche was to made this engine by itself, i bet it would have more RPM, less noise, more performance, a 90 degrees cylinder angle, and a 6th gear

@NitrousMouse - Completely and utterly false. And BTW, the Destroyer IS highly modified. So the race here is fair, and legitimate.

The H-D lost, and will continue to do so against other makers until they change engine designs.

Wanna cruiser, H-D may be the empitome (arguable). Wanna go fast, buy a better brand that gears itself toward performance.

Simple as that.

Nice run on the V-Max, bad run on the Destroyer, he left at too low of an RPM, there is a reason that bike has a rev box, use it! I own a V-Rod and it is simply a wonderful bike. I have riden a V-Max and they too are wonderful bikes, but they are like comparing apples to oranges.

The V-Max rider admits to running nitrous, the Destroyer is not. Re-run the race motor to motor and the Destroyer is going to send the ricer burner back to Japan licking its wounds.

thought the vmax lost but glad it won. mine is a 2007 vmax. it doesn't handle well, uncomfortable, poor sitting position but the power and reputation makes up for what it lacks.

@hubeerjw --she should be on HER bike.... with HER trophy. heh heh. something else- i've watched your races and most where a v-max runs and it seems i never hear the boost. not even when i watch v-max non-racing vids i never hear it. maybe there's something wrong with mine because both 2000 and 2006 just explode at a bit above 6k. i'd love open headers like that.  grrrrrr. i can only imagine the twouble. e. fudd.

I just love how the Screaming Eagle rider needs a wheelie bar while the Vmax rider just adjust and adapts to the wheelie and still wins. If the race is going to be on, then at least even the odds. Throw a wheelie bar on the Max and see the results of a high RPM launch.

$32k for the bike

$8k for the fancy harley trailer to get it to the track (since it's not street legal)

there you have it, 40k....

And you still got whooped up on by a $4200 max with a 40-shot....
