@zakkwyldewannabe The silver carp are the ones you really need to worry about. It's too bad the U.S. is getting raped by invasive species, Native species should be and are #1 priority.

@guitarplayingcat but here in the US, they unfortunately aren't sterile, along with the silvers (jumpers) and bigheads, are RAPIDLY reproducing. one fish can bear up to 2 million eggs. Being that there are not many natural predators of these breeds, an astounding number of those eggs produce a fish that makes it to adulthood. On top of that, the bighead and silver (jumper) are filter feeders, so along with the the grass carp, they are eliminating LOADS of food source for native breeds.

@DonDiesel84 Invasive? They are from China, and here in Canada they are only stocked as triploids (extra set of chromosomes, Sterile fish). they are mainly used for private ponds, and canals and algae-blooming public ponds. Removal of vegetation is what they are designed to do, and they do their job well. Simple as that.

you kill grass or any carp because they will ruien an ecosystem, do your research fuckers... killin carp is just like killin kudzu here in S.C
