Leif Ove Andsnes - Trenet: Chanson Coin de rue" from the album "Horizons". A recording which looks back at Leif Ove Andsnes remarkable career to date and traces his life from Karmøy to the international stage. Entitled Horizons the album contains a collection of some 20 short pieces which Andsnes has accumulated including some he learned in childhood and ones that have been added to his suitcase over the years.

    I talked to Mr. Hamelin about the publication of these scores, he commented that he hasn't yet been able to publish them.

  • People should listen to this instead of the garbage that passes for music nowadays. This is so relaxing.

  • This sounds like Weissenberg's arrangement. For those who are curious, he arranged and anonymously recorded 6 of these songs for an old LP entitled "Mr. Nobody plays Trenet", but he never wrote them down. Marc-Andre Hamelin took the trouble to notate them from the recording and recorded all six last year. I don't think they've been published yet, though. Andsnes may have done is own arrangement, but its sounds more like he got the sheet music from Hamelin. Either way, love it!
