I thought Che was suppose to be cynical and sarcastic in this song and not a total goofball...
-
@zardoz248 Agreed, I've also seen many productions of this great show from original to movie to amateur to pro and this Che is the worst ever.
-
@aladdinstardust ---As a sort of overboard Eva fan--I have about a dozen books, in both Spanish and English, on her life and political stances--I couldn't agree more: This Che is AWFUL!
For guitar2snow to say Che is "supposed" to sound like Daffy Duck tells me he is too young to recall how the original Che on Broadway--after the play's London run-- Mandy Patinkin, sounded--a great voice, and NOT THE TINIEST BIT like the doofus singing on here--or else he is plain out of it!

This musical is SUPPOSED to be sarcastic--that is one of its main points! You must be too young to recall the Broadway original!! The point of view here is that of its British lyricist and librettist--you can read other more positive takes on her in many other places. I have been to Argentina--spent a month there in 2005--and can say she was then still very popular with the masses. The Justicialista Party, the ruling party today, in 2011, is really still the Peronist Party of Juan and Evita!

i love che's character :P oh and by the way..he's supposed to sound like daffy duck

Go Che!

Peron looks happy beside those two women and his officers siting beside him wtih musical insteruments XD
-
the movie raped this in the butt. That communist Che is a dousche that isnt cool compared to Antonio Banderas who isnt a dousche and is cool.

this is one of the most sarcastic musicals I've ever heared: p
really most of Che's lyrics/actions are backwards slants at Peron and Evita
and well there's a lot of cynisim in the plot as well.
