Pretty sad for Pirates fans given that this was the last time the team hit .500. Think about it; there was no Netscape, most people hadn't heard of the word Internet or even seen it, the sitcom Cheers was still on the air, OJ Simpson was still 100% innocent, and Czechoslovakia was still a country.

The Stick has outlived its usefulness it should have demolished after the 2000 season. The 49ers have had to play in that dump of a park. When the Giants and 49ers played there it had a charm to it. the oddblong side where visitors sit for football didn't bother me as much now. The field I liked when they resodded the infield and it got messy. Now it looks terrible.

I loved going to Giants games at The Stick. The new ballpark is an upgrade to say the least, but I'll always miss having the Giants at Candlestick.
