yea, he did. he used gibson flying v in 80s next was jackson randy rhoads, and next ESP LTD, etc... today he use all of these guitars :) he prefer jackson guitars, but James ESP LTD EX 400 and Gibson Explorer... but Hetfield use others too... :) sorry for my english i'm from Poland :)

He used a jackson a lot in the 80s... he has a contract with ESP so they can make KH guitars.
Also, didn't he play gibsons in early metallica?
