After the build and ground testing, I have been itching to see this plane fly. My twin skills are not to a level I trust, so I asked a friend of mine at my flying club to shake it down and he agreed.
After takeoff, the right engine began surging back and forth. He decided to land after a few trips around the pattern and when I looked it over I noticed that the set screw on the low end collar on the right engine had vibrated out and that needle had free will.
I will need to secure that better and test the engines some more, especially for power. The plane was sluggish and I think both engines need tuning. After I correct what was gleaned from this initial flight, we'll try some more tests.
Seagull Dual Ace 46
(2) Evolution Trainer Power System engines (.45)
AR7000 receiver
5 cell receiver battery
7 servos
Very very nice....But if i were you i'd go a little bit higher on the maiden flight, for safety reasons. Keep us posted for the Seagull AT-6!

@dreamwisperer Thanks. I agree with the altitude suggestion, especially with our trees. The plane was basically flying on one engine the entire flight. We could hear it surging the whole time. It would go to full and then stumble down and then get up there again almost like there was air in the system. I plan to give those engines more testing and that AT-6 is coming down the line.

@dreamwisperer Thanks again. I'm enjoying your vids also. The AT-6 is now up to the plate now that I was able to maiden the RV-8 ok as well. I'll be working on this Dual Ace too, but the flying for this one in particular I will leave to my friend who can handle a dual engine out situation and brings everything home in one piece (which makes sense since he's a commercial pilot!).
