This opens beautifully, rhythm, balance, proper flexion is place. Like our indoor piece, this horse shows stress & lack of balance in the lines. A much better example of our fine trainer in this case. Remember, in upper-level work, hind and fore feet are always equal in lift, and impulsion forward gives us flexion, not riding with hands in the belly button. Again, you never stop being a student of horses, and trainers can fall victim to their own fame, as riders can forget to pay listen.

@blackerthanblackdog First, you can bet Oliveira didn't torment his horses with Rollkur. Performance like this requires not only training, but trust and some freedom for the horse to find his own centre of balance. Second, there is a beauty that comes from the pursuit of art, not the acquisition of medals at any cost.

Why don't we ever see Anky van Grunsven or Carl Hester doing levade?

Bravo, there is such little film on nuno, too bad there we not more book still available in publication

That is just incredible, amazing. He is doing things that aren't even doable (by mere mortals)! That's just the most amazing riding/training, it doesn't even seem earthly. It's otherworldly.

Fabulous!
Please copy all your videos and photos and send them to his grandson Goncalo, so that they can be preserved in a library for all to share and learn from. Nuno was so generous with his knowledge and time, and this is a way that we can honor his memory.
