CHAPTER 13
After what had happened that day (with Kevin knowing about Greta leaving and Nick and Jess finally getting together along with Joe and Brit trying to make sure they were okay) they all decided to go to sleep. It was about 1am and Jess and Brit heard a knock at their window. They opened it up and in walked a tear stained face. They turned the light on and when they could see better saw it was Alyssa. She had a bruise on her right cheek and she was limping.
Brit- Oh my god Alyssa what happened (worried and scared)
Jess- Are you okay?? Who did this to you???? (Also worried and scared)
Alyssa- (silent)
Jess- I'm gonna go get Kevin, Nick and Joe (quietly walks out into the hallway to the guest room where the Jonas brothers were sleeping)
With Brit and Alyssa
Brit- Alyssa what happened?? (very worried)
Alyssa- (stares at ground)
Alyssa was always the happy-go-lucky one, always making jokes and laughing. And she couldn't go more then 10 minutes without talking. Brit had never seen her like this... she was quiet. Then Brit looked to the ground to. She saw one tear fall from Alyssa's face. Then another. By this time Nick, Kevin, Joe, and Jess were back in the room. Alyssa looked up to see them all standing there.
Kevin- (worried) Alyssa what happened?
Nick- (worried) yeah really, please tell us we can help and you can trust us
Alyssa- (lying) it's nothing I tripped, Jess, Brit you guys know how clumsy I am, especially on ice
Joe- (scared) Alyssa it's spring, there is no ice so you couldn't have slipped and I highly doubt you tripped and hurt yourself in so many different places
Alyssa- (looks down at the floor) well I did trip (quietly)
No one in the room believed Alyssa. Alyssa didn't even believe Alyssa, well she knew the truth but no one else did. She wasn't a very good liar. Actually she was a terrible liar. All Alyssa wanted to do at that moment was go to sleep.
Alyssa- guys can we talk about this tomorrow? I'm really tired.
To her relief everyone decided it would be best to sleep right now. Everyone but Nick and Alyssa walked out of the room leaving them alone.
Alyssa- (looks at Nick)
Nick- I wish you would tell us what happened, we really want to help, I really want to help (starts to walk out the door but is stopped by Alyssa walking in front of him)
Alyssa- (shuts the door) Can I trust you?
Nick- (happy but scared that she is going to tell him) of coarse you can trust me. (Sits down on Brit's bed and motions for her to sit next to him)
Alyssa- you aren't going to tell anyone?
Nick- I don't know, you are hurt and I can't let that keep happening so I might have to tell someone.
Alyssa- (really wants to tell someone what's happening) fine I'll tell you
Nick- (looks at her)
Alyssa- okay (takes a deep breath in and then lets it out slowly) my parents are divorced and it was time to go to my dad's house. He got mad that I had been gone because then I wasn't spending time with him. My dad has a temper (pauses) and he pushed me into a wall. Then I really did trip when I tried to get up which is why I'm limping.
Nick- (mad that someone would do that) are you okay? What are you going to do?
Alyssa- (cries) I don't know. I snuck out. If he finds me I am in so much trouble.
Nick- (holds her tightly and lets her cry into his shoulder)
Nick didn't know what to do. He knew he couldn't let his friend be hurt. Then in the middle of his thoughts he heard the door open and he saw Jess' monkey pajama pants. He knew that what she saw couldn't look good. Him holding Alyssa and all, but he hoped she would believe that he was just comforting her.
Uh oh! Alyssa's dad hit her!!! Is Jess gonna get jealous because of Nick comforting Alyssa? Or will she believe him?? What's gonna happen next?? I don't really know lol... oh and just a note this isn't true and Alyssa's dad is a really cool dude lol
