Hey mate, it would be awesome if you could reply to this. Im taking on this build as part of my school metalwork project. I have bought the plans from the edge and am currently in the process of making the front suspension. At this stage the A-arms are finished but im wondering whether it requires bearings inside the cylinder connecting the arm to the buggy or whether there is a different method.
If you could hep me out that would be great, maybe a picture of yours? lewis_tate@hotmail.com

What did you di for the fuel tank coz on mine (no engine yet) it doesnt look like it will gravity feed to the engine

I am building a sidewinder and have a problem with the monoshocks. Do you think the YAMAHA RAPTOR 660 front shocks are strong enough to fit the sidewinder on the front?

What did you use for tubing/piping? I've been looking and have yet to find a place that says what works well.

thats a bad ass buggy im building one right now except i got a dazon raider 150 with no motor i wanna put a 750 or 650 motor in it right now im just getting it ready for paint

hey mate.. i think the front shocks maybe a little light weight for the sidewinder, the leverage on the sidewinder is a lot more as the arm is longer and the pivot point for the shock is quite close to the hinge point.. but its worth a try if you have them, you could move the shock mount closer to the wheel, but doing this will reduce your suspention travel, but thats not the end of the world, good luck either way... cheers

@fischerskidude well i think powder coating is the way to go mate... its really tough and quite a thick coating... great range of colors and types of finishes too... as for price... mine was $450 for the lot... that was 5 rims, frame in 2 tone hammer and the front arms and swingarm in yellow... i was pretty happy with that... the paint and primer would be around $100 alone before you start sanding and preping your frame... its fiddly work too... cheers mate good luck...

G'day mate... it took me a fair while to build my sidewinder... on and off over a couple of years... but to build one from start to finish would take a couple of months... alot of small and fiddly work to get things right... i have a trade background and access to machine's which helped me out heaps... Great fun to Drive... Was well worth all those hours in the workshop... Cheers mate...
