Played on an emulator. No savestates or slowdown used. Single segment run played on Normal difficulty. Final time from gaining control to last hit on the final boss is 32:53.
This was a very fun game to run. It has so many different types of gameplay packed into it and even after putting lots of time into it the past several weeks the humor about it never got old. This run is far from perfect, but does showcase some interesting and difficult tricks. I'm very happy with this time.
Part 3
Level 5: Not my best run of this level certainly. I think saying that the cage section didn't go so hot is a bit of an understatement, but fortunately that didn't cost me any time. While there isn't really anything in the way of huge glaring errors in this level, there's lots of little mistakes that add up. The boss fight also leaves something to be desired. The mistake on the first form is pretty obvious and in the second it took me a little while to find my rhythm.
Andy Asteroids 5: Probably the one of these that requires the most explaining. Believe it or not, what you see here is as fast as it can be. At the start there's no way to prevent Psycrow from grabbing all the boosters that he does (if I don't hit him at the start I can get the first shield, but that's about it). There's also the matter of the booster I don't grab towards the end. If I do grab that one, the next two won't appear and I end up losing a little time. This is the only instance of this I've found in the game, kind of strange really.
Anyone else half expect the music playing during the falling fight with the chicken robot to turn into What is Love?
