My Hackintosh, built from my parents Compaq. I have a AMD system i built myself so i decided not to try it on my gaming rig, the Compaq is the only Intel Chipped Computer in the house.

If you can't read the "About this Mac" section it reads like this

Processor 3.8Ghz Intel Pentium 4 CPu

Memory 512Mb DDR SDRAM

Startup Disk Tiger-x86

This thing rivals real Macs, i just need a gig more RAM to be happy, but like i said this isn't my system so i don't put money into it. But i have full graphics acceleration courtesy of the GMA 900 Driver on the JaS OS X 10.4.7. Full burning capabilities, working sound. If you want to use a Compaq of this sort its the Presario SR1319RS.

  • my hackintosh isnt working at all. it just keeps on loading and never ends

  • 3.8 gigahertz pentium 4? That's awesome. Too bad it's only 512 MB of ddr1 ram and a crappy video card. I have a pc that's about the same as this one, but it's a LOT better.

  • another hack mac osx on a compaq desktop hope internet works like ethernet and maybe modem but who cares about diaal up its slow 50k a sec guess

  • Windows Vista + Macintosh

  • Wtf !

my hackintosh had a kernel panic after i did the update. i used something with pre-patches, then the actual update, the post patches. before i could get to the post patches

    Resetting IOCatalogue

came up on the screen. and it wouldnt go away. then i forced a shutdown and rebooted in verbose ( i always use verbose) and the last words i remeber reading were "kernel panic" and there were other words..

  • Thats just one of the advantages of the Mac OS. It is very light on resources, and incredibly efficient. My father's PC has two gigs and when idle, Vista uses almost 1.1 gigs doing nothing. My Powerbook has only 0.5 gigs and handles having Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Safari open and working easily.

  • Then its not titanium its aliminium

  • No. There was a 1.67 Hz PowerBook G4 for $2,300 at the time they were new.

    And FYI mine runs Leopard.

  • did you upgrade the processor yourself?
