Redwood Hill - A

Intro: I V VIm III7 IV I II IV I

I (I) climbed the Redwood (V) Hill, 'twas (VIm) on a rainy (III) day
To (IV) rise above the (I) throng and (II) talk with Mother Nature for a (VI) while
She (I) told me of her (VI) love for the (VIm) children in her (III7) trust
And (VI) of her grave (II) concern, for the (II) likes of (VI) you and me and (I) us

(VIm) Crying though she was, she did (I) speak these tender words
The (VI) things that I (IIm) am, I (VI) could not change for any (V) man

I tried to comfort her, ah but she would not be still
And how the rain did fall, as I found my way back down the Redwood Hill

Chorus:
I tried to comfort her, ah but she would not be still
I'll not forget that day, when Mother Nature cried on Redwood Hill
I'll not forget that day, when Mother Nature cried on Redwood Hill

  • Holly Crap!!! He sounds just like Charlie Waller

  • @DonnieanLisa1 Yeah he's still with us, didn't mean it in that sense. I've known him for many many many years and we don't get to see each other very often is all.

  • @LouisvilleKY Miss him ?? Isn't he still with us ?

  • That's Kevin Church on banjo.

  • @jeffyjobluegrass

It's a tree-hugger song, Jeff... perhaps referring to clear-cut logging or some other environmental concern. Mother nature crying because we're destroying the planet, and all that jazz.

  • The guitar player that sounds like Charlie is Mike Phipps. The other guitarist is Darren Beachley. Mandolin looks like Dave Probst. Dobro is Mark Clifton. Not sure about the bass and banjo.

  • Who all is in this band, anyone know? Bill Yates is awsome, miss him.

  • Excellent! One of the best versions I've Ever heard.

  • great blend

  • does anybody know the true meaning of this song???
