BT has supported Sport Relief since the beginning and once again provided the telephony, network management and thousands of volunteer hours in call centres across the country to help take millions of pounds in donations.
Beth Courtier, BTs community investment manager said, BTs support for charity telethons such as Sport Relief is a key strand of our charity programme. BT is in a unique position to assist and we are proud to be using our technology and expertise to help those most in need both at home in the UK and around the world.
As headline sponsor of The BT Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride, BT also helped David Walliams and his team of celebrity cyclists exceed their £1,000,000 target on their nonstop 4-day cycle relay from John OGroats to Lands End.
Everyone who picked up their BT phone on Friday 26 February helped raised more than £300,000 towards the Teams total thanks to BTs Chat for Change initiative.
