Armenia's Consul General Grigor Hovannisyan, speaking at a panel on December 18, justified the Armenia Turkey protocols by arguing that Armenia needs for "more predictable and better" trade routes, adding thath Turkey "may become" an easier access to Europe for both import and exporting our products with Europe."
"Unfortunately the economy is not run by noble laureates," he admitted, "but by the politicians." For Hovannisyan, economic theory dictating a country like Armenia to have zero protectionist measures "is the way to go."
