  • Exquisite. Sublime. Thank you for sharing this! It only confirms my belief that had Mosty-and the rest of the Soviet machine-had shown up in L.A.-Retton would have been nowhere near the podium. Except perhaps and that's a big perhaps-vault finals.

  • Absolute epitome of a gymnast.

  • @PhillyGal4Ever Sublime here in a Communist games. The Soviets never won a team title on American Soil in the Olympics, and only one in 1991. They didnt compete so well in the US for some reason. So, I would say yeah they would have probably won the team title, but I dont agree that the US would have been shut out. Julienane McNamara was still a gold medal threat on bars with the Eastern Europeans and Mary Lou would have easily won medals in floor and vault.

  • i wish she wouldve gone to the olympics, wouldve beaten retton easily

  • She scored a ten on every event at this Games. I recall reading somewhere that Onodi actually called that skill a Mostepanova when she was training it.

  • @LETMEINGUYS No because Olga performed it at the 1983 and 1985 Worlds. No one is really sure why she didn't submit the paperwork to get it named after her, maybe she didn't think it was that unique.

  • amazing set. I wish more people would connect the half turn step out instead of doing it on its own.

  • She moves like water!

  • The AA gold medalist for me.

  • thank you for making this video this is totaly awesome

  • I'm a huge gymnastics fan. And I know pretty much everything about the beam, so that factoid I did know. This is why I rarely call it an Onodi. I prefer to call it a half turn step out, since it was not originally created by Henrietta.

  • hey man you may be even more impressed to find out that the ONODI she done wasnt created by Henrietta onodi. It was created by Olga herself!! yes she was the first !! Henrietta was the first to throw it in the worlds so it was named after her. Isnt that great!!!
