  • There are of course easier ways to make a chain, but i appreciate the lattice info. You should rename this Chain using lattice modifier. I learned quite a bit from this tut. Thanks.

  • @bnewton81

    duely noted, thanks I think it's kinda obsolete now.

    If you want more insight check cg.tutsplus.com for blender tuts. (of course mine are the best... ;)

  • I thought this video was on how to make a lattice and tomato sandwich!!

  • Almost 8 minutes for this?

    I'd make it simply:

    Spacebar-> Add-> Mesh -> TORUS.

    Enter "Edit Mode", select the half of the mesh, and grab it until you get the desired long of the link.

    The End!

  • Mesh is mesh no matter where it came from. Warning though for Physics try to stay low poly. I'm not sure whether Blender is the right software to do actual physics calculations link by link. You could try to influence the Curve distorting the Chain and cheat your physics results. On the actual chain physics I would recommend real flow. You can get a fully working test version and I think it is exactly what you need for this.

  • sorry . this not chain physic, my bad. btw do u knoe how to set physics for chain. Every time i try to set it , it produce as I sad bad result, like ring moves through another ring

  • can I use bezier circle with bevel object (another bezier circle)? than alt+c (convert to mesh) , or this will produce different results with physics?
