These guys look better than the modern top 44. Notice they have a better appreciation for riding the wave fluidly. Amazing performance regardless of how old this is. This new one-tiny-air gets you an automatic 5 or 6 judging system is a bad idea. Back then the waves weren't as good for the events and the surfboards weren't as good, the new kids aren't nearly as talented as these guys were.

Cheyne Horan on single fins....what a hell of a surfer. When I was surfing 6/7 days a week, reading Tracks all the time, he was the enigmatic, loner, individual guy I cheered for on the pro circuit.
