WAP5 India's Fastest Undisputed King 12002 Bhopal Shatabdi negotiates the Chambal river bridge. Dunno if this train is made to crawl always on this bridge deliberately, so that tourists can enjoy, since this is the biggest bridge on its route.

Notice the tiny human walking after 1:25 on the river bed. Man is such a puny power less creature but his arrogance is that of Ocean !!!

P5 GZB 30030. GZB WAP4 22612 24 coach train is mostly Sachkhand express as per timings.

The Chambal River is a tributary of the Yamuna river, and forms part of the greater Gangetic drainage system. The river flows north-northeast through Madhya Pradesh, running for a time through Rajasthan, then forming the boundary between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh before turning southeast to join the Yamuna in Uttar Pradesh.

It is a legendary river and finds mention in ancient scriptures. The Chambal River is utilized for hydro power generation at Gandhi Sagar dam, Rana Pratap Sagar dam and Jawahar Sagar Dam

The Chambal ravine has harbored dacoits for centuries. One of the famous dacoits was Phoolan Devi, who terrorized the entire Chambal valley. The entire Chambal stretch starting from Dholpur in Rajasthan and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh comes under high alert zone due to dacoits looting passengers.

Bhopal Shatabdi is fully air conditioned and the fastest train in India. The train commenced service in 1988 and was the first Shatabdi train to be introduced. The train runs at an average speed of 93 km/h (excluding halts), touching a top speed of 150 km/h on the 195 km Delhi-Agra stretch, which is the fastest for a train in India.

The first Shatabdi Express was flagged off between Gwalior and Delhi on 14th November 1988, which was later extended to Jhansi and later on extended to Bhopal.

Fridays, used to run with old ICF rake. From 20th May 2011, LHB rake on Fridays too.

Bhopal Shatabdi is hauled for the entire route usually by a single WAP5 AC electric locomotive from the Ghaziabad shed.
