For my sensor board, I wrote a plotting tool with Perl utilizing gnuplot. The sensor data is stored into a MySQL database by the PC-Client. One more video about this project... hope I don't bore you ;)

  • Hi! Compliments, very nice application... what about Sensor->USB->Perl(some library!??!) chain interfaces? Ok, data is sampled from the board (where LED is blinking i guess...), data is transmitted serially in USB protocol? Can i do this whith another script instead perl!?

Sorry, several questions.. i'm very interested ;)

    Regards

p.s. sorry for my english, i'm italian :(

  • Well actually it is Sensor-I2C-AVR-UART2USB-PC-MySQL-Script ;)

So you can use any language to program a database client and do whatever you like with the data. And thanks ;)

  • i dont want to sound stupid

    but

for example For to do that sensor bord

    do you need internet?

    sorry for my bad english

  • I don't understand. You can do the stuff offline. But it is possible to access the sensor data via the internet (from a remote machine).

  • Oh, I just found out that what I'm talking about is called "moving average filter". Matlab help to the resque once again!

  • Well done! I have the same problem with smoothing the data, what algorythm are you using? Polynomial regression or sth? My biggest problem is the fluctiations when the temperature is about to change. (like 17.5 18.0 17.5 18.0 17.5 18.0 17.5.....) I don't think its mathematicaly robust to just put them in a regression algorythm and hope for the best... If you have a solution to this please pm me! But gain well done!
