@comeonher I don't think he upstaged them as much as offended them. The players were very obviously seasoned professionals with a solid sense of what is tasteful. John's style would annoy a lot of players who appreciate subtlety. Just because you are able to sing a lot of flashy runs doesn't mean that you should. Sometimes it's about the notes you do NOT sing. There's a fine line between putting "your signature" on a song and shitting all over it. I think that's why the band disliked him.

Holy crap, these guys really pulled it off live. Not many bands can sing harmony like that....not even the Beach Boys. And the instrumental prowess - they all sound like veteran session players.

he's got a great voice, but Shorrock deserves the most merit...he was the original and they took all the rights to the songs and even the darn band name from him and the original members... Shorrock and the real LRB go screwed...

LOL five idiots gave it a thumbs-down....I bet they're really great singers. Farnum's vocal range is ridiculous...love Shorrock too...this was a very underated band.

I wish people wouldnt argue over this vid. Glenn will not be the only one to sing this song. I loved Glenn's version and I loved John's. They're both different so i think it would be kind of unfair to compare the two :D
