Fidi is an annual extravaganza involving students of Lithuania's Vilnius University Physics Faculty. Fiziku Diena, Physics Day, takes place at the faculty campus, "Fizlandas". Fidi is enjoyed by present and past students, including the occasional primeminister. The climax of the event is the appearance of the faculty dinosaur, a fearsome, all parts moving, laser-spitting monster, usually, designed to impress the female students of the Philology Faculty in the central city. Rumour has it that the main purpose of the parade is to demonstrate for the Philologists, the subtle difference between vodka and water. There are other theories.
