This video shows how to perform creation pruning and maintenance pruning on a Japanese Maple Pre Bonsai tree, part 1. The bonsai tree will be put in a bonsai pot in early spring, 2010. • ok i just started out i have a juniper that the nursey has cut off the top of the trunk i just wana ask do i just let it grow for a while or.......

  • Two strategies: 1) just let it grow until something grows that you like the shape of; or 2), train up the nearest side branch to the cut, repot the tree at an angle, and prune the cut back to just above the side branch so that the cut looks like a natural bend in the trunk. I think I'm going to shop the nurseries for a 5 gal prostrata or san jose juniper to do another beginner video.

  • Japanese Green Leaf Maple when would i put it bonsal pot ?

    p.s i have two

  • In early spring, right when the new buds start to swell. Once the new leaves start to emerge, it is too late, so watch it carefully to catch the right moment.

  • Where is part 2?

  • Sorry, I haven't had time to upload the original part 2, which is a short look at the tree after pruning is finished. We might reshoot it in the near future to show the tree after a little more growth.

  • @puertorricanstar I know a good place. DM me.

  • Hi Charles, I just bought a healthy Japanese maple that is about 1ft. tall, over the internet. I am pretty new to bonsai, so I was just wondring if you could answer some questions, as I would obviously love my tree to survive. (1) After it arrives, should I go ahead and transplant it? if not, when should I? (2) Can I go ahead and trim/prune it, if not, when can I? (3) I am not in a position to buy bonsai soil, so can I just use regular soil, or what should I do? Thanks so much for the help!
