Monkey Island 2, while the Amiga Version has already been posted, the PC version has some differences

  • You're missing a few sound effects and stuff in this video. ;/

  • Such as?

  • I think these kinds of discussions are usually based on what you played first. Graphics are almost exactly the same, and the only true difference is the music, which can be argued as simply being opinion. I could be wrong though, I never played the Amiga version :P

  • Were you running this with SCUMMVM? I've got the CD version and there's only one mode, but when I run it with SCUMMVM it gives me the option of lite or normal modes...

  • No, this was run in DOSBox. It's much easier to record that way.

  • Poor graphics?!?!?!?!? , get an education in gaming. It's about GAMEPLAY not graphics, Halo, Gears of War and Call of Duty could only hope to be as innovative as Monkey Island!

  • Fantastic game!!!!!!!!!!!

  • excellent music

  • Best game i've ever played!

  • @SpitamaFan Huh? Why didn't i think of that, i'm going to try it right now

  • best game ever! i love the art direction, the humour, and most of all GUYBRUSH!!!

  • WickedJ133 , have you tried downloading ScummVM and running the game on it?

  • @lNVlCTUS I agree with you 100%. But then again you've gotta see this in a different perspective. It's all about the gameplay and kids today and kids in future generations probably find point and clicking boring, they simply can't comprehend the true value of these games, just like we can't really comprehend the value of the very first pong game (assuming we didn't live in that time)

  • Do you have a legit copy of the game? if so, you think you could help me with something? I bought an original copy just today because i happened to find one and im having troubles to run it. I installed it, tried to run it in DOSBox but i got a message: "Scriptline 130 not in room 108" on Lucasarts' site they had a fix for that but after installing the fix, nothing changed, still getting the message.

  • @SpitamaFan haha, we must be roughly the same age; I remember Fate of Atlantis too - can't agree with you more, oh, the early 90's - when Lucas Arts ruled the world, thanks for the post

  • @Industrialfolk

Agreed! Best. Game. Ever! I was 11 when i bought this game secondhand, or rather my parents did as a christmas present. I hadn't played Monkey Island 1, but i had played through Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (another sublime Lucasarts classic), but this game just blew me away: so many frustrating, but pleasurable moments spent banging my head into the wall trying to solve the puzzles!

  • @lNVlCTUS

I agree that graphics don't matter, but those 3 games you noted are in a different genre.
