  • Glad it worked for you, it didn't work for me. I have tried using various amounts. I tried using when my hair was dry, wet, and damp. Various ways, it didn't do anything for me, but left a residue. I gave mine away after trying it about 7 different ways.

  • ... Sometime we try a product that just won't work no matter what! what are you using now?

  • I luv luv luv cantu shea butter!!! it's great

  • :0) me too! was yours nice and thick? have you ever gotten one that was thin and runny?

  • I was gonna get that but I saw good reviews and very bad ones. But the fact that it doesn't co wash out is kinda scary so yeah I might only use it once a week. But I'll try it once I go on my break from my protective.

  • I think it's a really nice product and works well if you follow the directions on the jar! LOL!

My hair was still freaking soft!!! hallelujah i found a freaking moisturizer! praise God!

  • i love it NOW! lol. im saying NOW because before i thought my hair didnt like it. coming to find out.....(drumroll!!!) i used it wrong! lol. so to everyone who thinks that their hair doesnt like cantu shea butter, u misinterpreted ur hair honey! u need to make sure ur hair is CLEAN and has no other products (cantu doesnt work well with other products). then u section off portions and apply it LIBERALLY! twist it and let it dry like miss pretty mentioned above in the vid. it will come out sweeett

  • I got this product from an organic shop for $12.

  • This product is great(: I love how it puts moisture on my wavy/ curly hair!(:

  • i have noticed that the cantu works better when my hair is not supper wet, but instead i will dry it a little with a white t-shirt and then apply it, this way i can put other products over it without it beading up on me.

  • I definately agree! they changed their formulation and it was soooo obvious and dissapointing. it was not as rich as before. It still works but I hate that they did that.

  • lol. Ok, I was watchin this video and twisting my hair with the cantu leave in. It's my first jar ( yogurt version) and she started talkin about it not mixing well. I put IC gel in my hair this morning. I got up and looked in the mirror and all my twists were white and flakey with those darn clumps. ick! OH well, I've learned.

  • Oh my goodness, I bought some Cantu but said in one of my vids that I didn't like it because I couldn't mix anything with it. But I tried it again this week and found that it was a yogurty consistency and I had little balls of product on my hands before I could get it in my hair....I did like the way my hair was moisturized but don't know if the consistency issue is enough to make me repurchase it.

  • I wish I had looked at some of these reviews before I did my hair this AM. 1st of all, I got the "yogurt" batch. And 2nd, I combined it w/gel & coconut oil for my twists. Looks like I'll be shampooing my hair tomorrow. Ugh!!!

  • This ingredient is the reason you have to use shampoo to get it out:

    "Trimethylsilylamodimethicone"

It is a non-soluble silicone. So far though, I love the cantu on my hair. As long as you know what the ingredients do, silicones (imho) are not the devil lol.

I prep my hair by making sure it is moisturized to begin with, before adding the product. It elongates my twists.

I'm going to use apple cider vinegar on it on wash day before I use shampoo. Shampoo is a last resort for me!

  • .....true indeed
