Princess Diana's Funeral Part 16: Tony Blair and Elton John

Diana's second sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, gives a short reading: "Time is too slow for those who wait".

There is then a hymn 'The King of love my Shepherd is':

The King of love my Shepherd is,
whose goodness faileth never;
I nothing lack if I am his
and he is mine for ever.

Where streams of living water flow
my ransomed soul he leadeth,
and where the verdant pastures grow
with food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish oft I strayed,
but yet in love he sought me,
and on his shoulder gently laid,
and home rejoicing brought me.

In death's dark vale I fear no ill
with thee, dear Lord, beside me;
thy rod and staff my comfort still,
thy cross before to guide me.

from thy pure chalice floweth!

And so through all the length of days
thy goodness faileth never:
good Shepherd, may I sing thy praise
within thy house for ever.

During the hymn Cliff Richard can be seen in the congregation.

Elton John begins his tribute song, 'Candle in the Wind':

Even if she wasn't ours, her heart was a light to the people who was broken, living in poverty, and disenchanted by the environmental distress. America shares with all of England- a tremendous loss of life. I was just a girl when she got married and like everyone else, I watched it on tv. Her blue sapphire diamond ring was my favorite ring of all time. If I could turn back the hands of time or even, speak to Diana, I'll give her a hug and say to her, all is well! RIP Princess Di!

I will never forget when I saw this on TV

I would be about three or four. I entered the front room of our house and saw my entire family crying. I had never heard of Diana before I was not brought up in a house of royalists or even people who celebrate the queen, and yet here they all were crying. If I remember right I started crying as well without knowing why.
