This clip is from an informal get together held at the Nindoryu Goshin Jujutsu dojo in NY. This technique is part of "Sijo" Bob Smith's legacy of his creation:Shao Choy Hung Kungfu. Thanks go to "Kat" for assisting me & to Sensei Leon Major for allowing the use of his dojo.

In the technique tiger reaches for the heavens, can it be applied while behind the person? After the elbow strike in a good horse, step behind with that tiger technique.

Hi folks!
To answer your question, the "tiger reaches for the heavens" move is assisted by the previous move, normally, the head drops forward,so as to create the "reactionary positioning" for the next strike. if a rear/back elbow to the lower spine was performed, the head would snap back and the "tiger reaches' move could be done to the mastoid.
