Famous ghazal of Momin which is sung by many singers like Nayyera Noor,Ghulam Ali,Begum Akhtar etc....
here is another version. The singer is the famous ghazal singer from India, Madhurani. She is a singer par excellence from Faizabad, in India. She is the guru of famous singers like Penaaz Masani and Chaaya Ganguli and many others. She does not sing in public anymore but if you can get hold of her radio recordings, then she is just the treat for your ears. This does not seem to be Tina Sani's voice. This singer's gaiki is far superior than Tina Sani. Nayyera Noor is nowhere near this artist (whoever this is)

Thanks for sharing this masterpiece ghazal. I have never heard Madhuri before but she is obviously a very well trained singer. She is better than most film singers we have had.

@tazzzzz999 - both renditions are very beautiful. Lets us not get into any India or Pakistan bashing here. Music and poetry are among the few things over which we unite. Let's please keep it that way. One upman-ship is best left to politicians, not music. this is utterly sublime singing- hats off to both the ladies. Nayyara-ji and Madhuraniji

oh wow!! i had heard of Madhurani from a friend who is an Ustad from Afghanistan. I know she is the Ustani of Peenaz Masani. Its amazing what treasures we have hidden midst us...

oh my god.. how nostalgic.. I remember she belonged to some raj gharana or some rich ancestory.. always composed and sang for her own content.. stayed away from limelite and commercial aspect of music industry.. though its our bad luck that we did'nt get much to hear from her.. or.. let us be optimistic and hope she sings again..

srafiquemd seems has expressed his view that Nayyara noor is no where near this singer and probably his knowledge requires a lot of updating . I am from India and a very big fan of NN. She is a great singer with right quality of voice this singer in fact is know where near her. Lol.

here in lies the problem between indian singers and listeners and pakistani singers and liteners. when you make such an obscene comment ,that nayara noor is nowhere near this singer you obviously have no clue what ghazal is. while this is a classically trained singer she hasn't the depth in her voice to render justice to this kalam.listen to nayaras rendetion and you will see the difference , if you are pakistani or a urdu speaker.
