Project site: http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?board=153.0 NOTE: I DID NOT DO THAT PORT, MRAKLOPAZ DID! I just made the video!

After seeing clones of Doom arriving on calculators a few years ago, the real game is finally arriving on them, specifically the TI-Nspire and TI-Nspire CAS models! It's still in beta, though: As for now, the game runs for 20-60 seconds then freezes randomly.

Some animated GIF captures can be found on the site. They look much clearer than in the video, but the framerate is much slower.

  • Doom? In my calculator?

  • @DasHuliGun Yes. You better play on a TI-Nspire CX, though, so it doesn't blur as crazy as in this old video.

  • is that a graphing calculator?

  • @KillKo434 Yep, but it's friggin hard to use compared to their older models. It's not their latest, though.

  • Oh man that is beautiful. Finally in 2011 we have true Doom port using the real Doom engine. Great graphics, they're accurate but lacking in color. Maybe TI calculators aren't the greatest like others have said.

Anyway, appreciation for this port, Doom porting is very cool.

  • @vegeta8085 TI has such a grip on the calculator market that, although the technology for *WAY* more powerful calculators with color screens is available and cheap, it's not going to happen anytime soon. A cheap cell phone has more power than a $100 calculator. Change is only going to happen when schools and curriculum stop calling for TI's shitty calculators.
