Starring Gregory Peck as a General Douglas MacArthur who led Aliied forces to win the Pacific war and win the Korean War as a U.N commander. Commercially failed but looks like documentary. Jerry Goldsmith's marching music quite impressive.

  • Shouldn't the other part of WWII story also be widely told? The history of WWII is incomplete w/o examining the role of key US political & business elites in helping create, arm & operate the Nazi war machine. Morgan, Rockefeller, General Electric Company, Standard Oil, National City Bank, Chase and Manhattan banks, Kuhn, Loeb and Company, General Motors, Ford, ITT, Prescott Bush, John and Allen Foster Dulles, & other industrialists were key to helping finance the Nazis & bring Hitler to power.

  • Yes. You are partly right. but that's not point. I mean I like Gregory Peck, and I also like Goldsmith's music. I'm a Korean so I salute Macarthur. That's all. It's just movie. I saw Zeitgeist, so I fully understand what you are want to say. Anyway thanks for reply

  • ou im proud to be a filipino for having to learn the history of mcarthur

  • Jerry Goldsmith scored both "Patton" and "MacArthur". He was a brilliant composer and is sorely missed.

  • Dwight Eisenhower didn't like MacArthur he called him "General Impossible".

  • @watertonrivers

MacArthur said that famous line when he made it to Australia.

  • the only field marshal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines

  • Unfortunately DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY no longer exists in the U.S Congress, U.S Senate, White House, or in the Oval Office. It only exists in some few individuals in the Pentagon. Quite unfortunate for America. What you need is an American Rommel, an American Staufenberg to to correct things in the U.S but where are such men today in your country who are in positions of power to do the right thing?

  • The long grey line has never failed, it was betrayed by politicians

  • A MacArthur... movie...?

  • @AdorationChapel that's "tocsin;" as in, an alarm bell for oncoming war.
