@truewords79 Sleeper finishes are just very old-school...just like the AWA was. He used it because his dad did, for sure. Being too old-school is basically what killed the AWA, so you have a point.

Where would Greg Gagne have been washing cars for rent money in 1988 if his daddy wasn't the owner of AWA? What a waste of a roster spot he was. I can't believe I feel sorry for Dennis Stamp for having to job to this silver spoon fed wimp with a sleeper hold so pitiful it put me to sleep- out of boredom.

I actually like Greg Gagne and think this was a good match. Gagne was the small face who used technical skills like the sleeperhold to beat bigger guys. The nepotism was always hanging over him but it added a little drama to the AWA and made it seem like an old family business. Even Dennis Stamp looks good here compared to the out of shape mess he turned into later. He's got a nice junior heel persona here raking Gagne on the ropes, and Greg is still the good guy who wakes Stamp up from KO.
