@mnpd007 Yet he had been a naturalist for years...cummon research a little before you say stuff like that. Admittedly going to the part at that time of the year when the bears were going into hibernation AND when his pack was not there, was stupid BUT the guy was someone who loved nature which a lot of people don't give shit about. The crocodile hunter died too-fatalities of working with nature...it happens

I think he was a little crazy. But what a hell of a way to die. SO much pain. I understand having a love for animals but he took it to far. It took 13 yrs for him to get killed by a bear,wow. I was watching his show on netflix & he just said " if im eatin by a bear its for a good cause. Um mmmmmkay. He was out there,but still uncool way to go. wendy, :)

@ExBlankaBall Or maybe they grew a conscience or were threatened with legal actions. Whatever the reasons, the original tape is in a bank vault and any copies of it have not surfaced since shortly after the incident.

The best way to get dangerous wildlife killed is by habituating them to humans. Even the rangers and troopers arriving at the campsite to recover the remains had to kill two bears, one of which had just killed and eaten two people.
Neither can adult wildlife with no rearing exposure "trust" humans... that's a product of Treadwell's own imagination. The guy was a bonafide nutjob, and it got two people and two bears killed within hours of each other. He should have been banned from the Park.

@toboesnumber1fan He was an idiot that did more harm than good and got his girlfriend killed. He wasn't doing anything to "save" the bear, he was on a federal nature reserve where the bears were protected already. Screaming "I love you" at bears in a camp voice was neither educational nor sensible. He lived like a jackass and he died like one.
