@1poiuztrewq2 Not really. They are all Mongoloid, and Chinese nationality. So there isnt that much diversity there. And so many HK movies are done in Mandarin, not just infernal affairs, its no surprise to hear it in Mandarin. The dub was very well done. I used to playback scenes in infernal affairs 2 hundreds of times just to rewatch and acting and lines.

I know about both Cantonese and Mandarin and if you're really into these dialects a Mandarin dub sounds just wrong. Plus HK actors speaking Mandarin is very uncommon. In this case it's not even them speaking but a poorly done dub. You're right about the nationality but culture and race is different. According to race, culture and language China is more diverse than all European countries combined.

@1poiuztrewq2 HK actors have been doing Mandarin dialogue since Bruce Lee films. Cantonese is a Chinese dialect that is spoken across Guangdong China. You are talking about a dialect of people that stems from the same race, nationality, and culture.

Characters from Hong Kong in a HK movie speaking mandarin is like Italian-Americans speaking Spanish, it's just wrong.
