@hewett1111 Where else would you find them. Leaves fall in late fall and sheds drop in late winter. Old sheds are lighter in color unless the have been covered by leaves. The part covered will be darker. There are not many large trees so there would not be many leaves on the ground each year. Fresh sheds usually will not have been chewed on. Older shed are almost always chewed on, unless there are not many small critters and they usually need large trees. They could be last years shed unchewed.

He had to have the sheds to make a staged video, especially a matched set. Where did he get them, from a friend who found them. He certainly did not buy them. I have found many sets within 50 yards of the each other. As soon as he found the first one I was saying start looking for the other one in the area. I do it by going in an ever widening circle up to 200 yards or more. Most times you do not find both antlers.

@shedhunter0555 Right on man, where at in Idaho? seems like the horn hunting has gone way down hill the past few years

@redrocketrusty I Live In IDAHO TOO!!

obviously staged. I horn hunt relegiously and how often does a horn hunter walk thru the territory in a straight line picking up sheds? Not very. especially with a video camera. but if it was real that is pretty awesome. Deer in Idaho usually start dropping in mid december, You just have to be careful horn hunting that time of year or you will run all off the bucks out of your territory.

@averytwo Antler Shed hunting is a real deal. As a deer hunter it has become apart of my late-season scouting. It lets me know which bucks have made it through hunting season. It can also give me a heads up on any new bucks or bucks i have never seen in my hunting area. You have to know the key places to look but for the most part, it is luck to find them. Bedding areas are a great place to start since bucks spend most of their time there. Another good place to like is along fence lines.
