Loved the video, but I have to wonder (as an ABC) how culturally bound this strategic approach is. Has any district done this, at any scale?

Glad you enjoyed the video. If you'd like in-depth information on the mentoring program in Shanghai, take a look at the reports from the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), they are packed with great information.

How about an international support system? We would love new ideas for education in the U.S.!

I hated school, but I know the importance of education. The US needs to seriously put this at the top of their to do list. Start some program of maybe exchanging students/teachers with other countries' top highschools.

Excellent video, glad I took the time to watch it. US schools could learn from this instead of an us vs them fighting mentality.

Great examples of instilling proper teacher support from schools that are already working. I like the communal attitude where they create an atmosphere of everyone helping each other so that everyone will get better. The self confidence in the students not even being able to look up from their lesson plan and question the unprepared teacher's mediocre lesson plan can't be fixed over night. This is a great video I'd love to see the longitudinal effects of this type of strategy =) Thanks!
